I’ve been getting a lot of asks/comments regarding this tumblr post, which showcases some of the really nasty comments I got recently, particularly the very transphobic ones.  Do not click this if you are triggered by that sort of thing, it’s really nasty:

 For those asking, I’m not trans*, but I am an ally. I suspect the reason for all these transphobic remarks is the fact that I list my gender as “Other” on dA.   Given that the vast majority of the bros harassing me there haven’t even a clue who I am, they just made an assumption and tried to attack me on it.

I am sorry for any trans* folks who saw these comments on my page and were triggered by them. I try my best to make all my blogs safe spaces for everyone, and it’s really a shame that some bronies value fictional characters over the feelings of real people.  I honestly don’t even know how such heartless, cruel people can enjoy a show like “My Little Pony.”

It’s also a shame that DeviantArt continues to allow this sort of harassment, when they could quite easily implement the option to turn off comments on your profile.  So much drama could be avoided.

My god, Yamino. I’m so sorry you’ve been under this completely ridiculous attack. Those comments are abhorrent and just wrong.How can people stare at their screens and spew off that kind of hatred and absolute disregard for anyone other than themselves? There is no context in which that behavior is remotely appropriate. This is just fine, upstanding proof that, no matter the age, people still need to be reminded what common decency even is.

I can’t agree with some others about making a mass generalization about the MLP fandom for this behavior. Even though you’re taking a break from it (assuming that’s still the case), you’re veritable proof that fans with the best intentions regularly get shot down and drowned out by the loudest hypocrites. I’ve heard great things about the show’s message and conversely terrible things about people who don’t take it to heart. >:(
